Windows 7 Tips & Tricks

March 24, 2010

Last week, we kicked off our Hyper-V campaign with Microsoft at our Open House. During the Open House I presented some data points on Microsoft 7:

  • Three months following the release of Windows 7, out of 923 IT Professionals at large organizations surveyed, 88% said that they had plans on migrating.
  • 46% DO NOT plan on waiting for the release of Service Pack.
  • This is a HUGE change over Windows Vista, and Microsoft has done a great job alleviating their “Black Eye”  they got from Vista.

I followed this with 7 reasons why I love Microsoft 7:

1. Improved Task Bar and full-screen previews.

2. Jump Lists

3. Windows “Snap”

4. Improved Search – Files, email, etc.

5. Better Device Management

6. Personalizing your PC

7. Windows XP Compatibility Mode
